Video: Cloning tutorial
This lesson presents us with a problem: we created an antibiotic but a culture of staphylococcus proves resistant to it. We want to clone the antibiotic-resistance gene that encodes a newly acquired protein of this strain of bacteria. We have to construct a library of the genes through DNA digestion and ligation. Then we transform the bacteria with the recombinant plasmid obtained. Finally, we proceed to screening, but we have to interactively choose the most appropriate method. At the end, we are virtually ready to improve our antibiotic.
